Job Description

A full-time paraprofessional opportunity is available to support elementary students within Behavior and Autism programs. This position requires dedication, consistency, and specialized skills to effectively assist multiple students in a dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students with behavioral and autism spectrum needs during the school day.
• Implement individualized strategies under the guidance of teachers and specialists.
• Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records of interactions and observations.
• Support classroom management to create a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with educators and staff to ensure students receive appropriate assistance.

Qualifications:

• Paraprofessional certification or an Associates degree; this is a mandatory requirement.
• Ability to maintain consistent attendance to fulfill daily support obligations.
• Experience working with Behavior and Autism students highly valued.
• PMT (Preventive Measures Training) certification preferred and will be prioritized.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Schedule and Location:

• Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
• Position based in Waterbury, CT.
• Contract duration: Non-school year (NSY).
