\nRegistered Nurse - PCU
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
\n• 13-week assignment with weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
\n• Current patient ratios of 1:5 for PCU (goal is 1:4)
\n• Float as needed to other PCU units and potentially Med Surg
\n• Care for adults and geriatric patients on hospitalist service with pulmonary and medicine-related illnesses
\n• Manage patients with chest tubes, IV drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low dose dopamine and dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix), trach care, PICC lines, and oxygen modes including CPAP and BiPAP
\n• Work with telemetry monitoring and manage 2 vent-capable beds for chronic trach patients
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
\n• Epic experience required
\n• 1 year of nursing experience required
\n• 32 orientation hours provided
\n• Required to work at least 1 holiday per 13-week assignment (2 holidays during winter season)
\n• Skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care, and telemetry monitoring
\n• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions only)

\nThis healthcare facility features a 20-bed telemetry PCU specializing in hospitalist service patients with pulmonary and medical conditions. The unit serves as an alternate for renal and other medical patients, equipped with advanced monitoring systems and specialized equipment including vent-capable beds for chronic trach patients. The facility maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and various diagnostic services to ensure optimal patient care.
