Qualifications and responsibilities for this Public Works Director – Civil Engineer, PE position include:- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California or able to obtain licensure within 3–6 months- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required; Master's preferred- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing public works projects, preferably in roads and water- Strong background in operations oversight and project review, not design-heavy- Capable of supervising and coordinating across departments including water, wastewater, roads, and solid waste- Experience preparing departmental budgets and overseeing capital improvement planning- Proficiency with regulatory compliance, procurement, contracts, and permit processes- Ability to manage staff and liaise with agencies, consultants, and the publicSalary: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
