We are a family-centered, pediatric subspecialty Ambulatory Surgical Center located in Pasadena, providing complex care for children with orthopedic conditions. Job Overview The Pharmacist provides comprehensive services for a pediatric Ambulatory Surgery Center and outpatient clinic. The Pharmacist plays a key role in supporting both surgical and clinical operations by checking, preparing, compounding, and distributing medications. Compensation for the position ranges from $64 - $84/hour, and is based upon experience and departmental equity. This is a per-diem position, which means the role is scheduled on an as-needed basis rather than a fixed full-time or part-time schedule. Per-diem employees have flexible schedules and may be asked to work based on the organization's staffing needs and the employee's availability. Responsibilities Conducts and oversees the preparation and dispensing of medications, guided by professional standards of practice. Performs sterile IV compounding in compliance with established standards and protocols Receive prescriptions and medication orders from providers Check medication orders for proper dosing, contraindications, interactions Prepares, fills, and dispenses medications based upon physician orders Assesses the appropriateness of medications prescribed, monitors medication effects on the patient and provides drug information to hospital and medical staff Restocks the Omnicell automated dispensing system at the end of each shift to ensure medications are readily available for patient care Assist the Pharmacy Manager in planning, developing, coordinating and controlling pharmacy department functions and in training, supervising and evaluating pharmacy support personnel This is not an all-inclusive list of this job's responsibilities. Qualifications Minimum: CA MiPharmacy license 2+ years Pharmacy Outpatient experience Preferred: Bachelor in Pharmacy required, PharmD Experience in an inpatient pharmacy setting Experience using Omnicell automated dispensing systems Previous experience in an inpatient surgical pharmacy setting Shriners Children's
