Job Description

MyCHN is a nonprofit organization providing Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy services to communities in the South Houston and Gulf Coast area. We were founded in 2008 with one provider, three exam rooms and a big dream. Today, we have over 100 providers and more than 15 locations. MyCHN’s mission is to “provide quality care that uplifts, supports, and shapes healthy communities while addressing financial and social barriers”.

Job Summary:

The Obstetrician/Gynecologist (OB/GYN) is dedicated to the Center’s mission to provide health care to all people without prejudice, in a caring manner, regardless of their ability to pay. The Obstetrician/Gynecologist (OB/GYN) is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to women, focusing on pregnancy, childbirth, and female reproductive health. This role involves diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, providing prenatal and postnatal care, and performing routine check-ups and screenings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Diagnose and Treat Conditions: Identify and manage medical conditions affecting women’s health, including reproductive disorders, cancers, and menopause-related issues
Prenatal and Postnatal Care: Provide medical support to pregnant women, monitor fetal development, and offer postpartum care to new mothers
Routine Check-Ups: Conduct regular examinations, including pap smears, pelvic exams, and breast exams, to ensure overall health and early detection of potential issues in Women’s Health
Childbirth: Assist in Labor and Delivery as indicated
Family Planning: Discuss and provide guidance on contraception, fertility treatments, and
reproductive health
Patient Education: Educate patients about disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and
reproductive health
Collaboration: Work closely with other health care professionals to provide comprehensive care and ensure the best outcomes for patients
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

Bilingual in English/Spanish

Required Education and Experience:

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree
Current and unrestricted license by the state of Texas as an OB/GYN
Certification in area of practice or eligibility for certification
DEA Certification
Current CPR, PALS, or ACLS as specialty indicated

Preferred Education and Experience:

Experience as an OB/GYN
Experience working with non-profit organizations
