Purpose of the Role

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in and around the facility. This includes routine cleaning tasks, minor maintenance, and ensuring all areas meet hygiene and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

🧼  Cleaning & Sanitation

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors in designated areas.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, windows, and fixtures.

🔧  Maintenance Support

• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Perform minor repairs such as changing light bulbs or tightening fixtures.
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.

📦  Facility Care

• Maintain cleanliness in entryways, hallways, and exterior areas.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
• Follow all safety procedures and use protective gear as required.

🤝  Teamwork & Communication

• Work collaboratively with other staff and departments.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding tasks and issues.
• Uphold company values and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
