We are hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for our Forensic Assertive Community Treatment Team in Asheville. Meaningful work within a supportive team atmosphere. Responsible for managing psychotropic medications for the justice involved individuals on an ACT Team. Duties include initial psychiatric evaluation of client and subsequent follow up visits for medication evaluation and management. This position is an integral part of the team and would work in collaboration with not only other RHA staff but health care professionals in the community.

We are seeking compassionate and positive Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide support for justice involved individuals with serious mental illness on an Assertive Community Treatment Team. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with RHA, you will be responsible for managing psychotropic medications for justice involved individuals on an ACT team with RHA. Duties include initial psychiatric evaluation of individual and subsequent follow up visits in their home and community for medication evaluation and management. This position is an integral part of the team and would work in collaboration with not only other RHA staff but health care professionals in the community.

Requirements

Our ideal Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is an excellent communicator and listener, who has a certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner and experience working with the population supported. Relies on experience, knowledge, and judgment to provide services with limited supervision and direction. Able to meet with individuals in their homes and community independently. Education and/or experience:

  • Must be certified at the national level by American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
  • Be familiar with standards of practice for position and NC Medicaid Board as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Preferred 3 years experience working in behavioral health care.
  • The Nurse Practitioner must complete a minimum of twenty (20) hours of training specific to the required components of the service definition including crisis response within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Valid driver's license (this is a condition of employment) including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
