Electrical Supervisor – Immediate Start Available

We’re looking for an Electrical Supervisor to join our lumber mill located in Ackerman, Mississippi . Southeastern Timber Products (STP) produces forest products for customers nationally so they can build their homes and their communities.

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum two years’ experience in forest industry, in supervision role.
• Diploma or Technical Degree in a mechanical, electrical, or related field.
• Five-plus years related electrical experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
• Working knowledge of safety, health and environmental rules, laws, and requirements.
• Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems.
• Able to lead diverse trades groups and create a highly effective Electrical Team.
• Strong work ethic, self-motivation and effective communication, organizational and time management skills.

Your workday will look something like this :

• Supervise and coach electrical team to ensure quality operational repairs and preventative maintenance services; develop staff and self to ensure professional growth.
• Schedule and assign all tasks required to meet the preventative/predictive electrical needs of the facility.
• Design and develop new installations of a small to medium scope including power, motor control, controls, instrumentation, and programming of software to operate or improve plant equipment including PLCs.

With approximately 1,700 people, the town of Ackerman was chartered on February 16, 1884 and named for the president of the railroad, William K. Ackerman. Located 110 miles Northeast from Jackson, MS, Ackerman has been the County Seat of Choctaw County since 1896. The town is located near the headwaters of the Yockanookany River, a tributary of the Pearl River.
