Job Description

Project Manager

Commercial Construction | Dallas, TX

Our client is a Dallas-based commercial general contractor founded in 2014 and known for delivering high-profile, complex projects across North Texas. Their portfolio includes landmark work such as the Statler Hotel redevelopment and the Dallas Morning News Headquarters, along with a growing pipeline of commercial projects expanding into Fort Worth and Austin.

With recent growth and several major projects underway, they are adding a Project Manager to support current work and grow into a larger leadership role over time. This is an opportunity to join a well-established but still nimble GC where project managers are trusted, visible, and closely involved in how the business operates.

You’ll work directly with leadership — including a founder with 30+ years of industry experience — and be given real ownership over projects, clients, and outcomes. As the company grows, so does your role.

The Role

This is a hands-on Project Manager position overseeing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The right person enjoys being involved in the details, working closely with the field, and taking responsibility for the full life cycle of a project.

This role is well-suited for a Project Manager coming from a similar-sized commercial GC who wants more exposure, autonomy, and long-term growth without stepping into a rigid corporate structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, typically ranging in size from $100K to $20M
  • Own project execution including budgets, schedules, subcontractor scopes, and procurement
  • Lead buyout, contract management, change orders, cost tracking, and forecasting
  • Coordinate closely with superintendents to ensure alignment between jobsite operations and project plans
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, and consultants
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and change management
  • Solve problems in real time — this is an active, hands-on, decision-making role
  • Contribute input on systems and processes as the company continues to scale

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a commercial general contractor
  • Experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Strong understanding of budgets, schedules, subcontractor coordination, and cost controls
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Proficiency with construction project management software (Procore experience a plus)

Who Thrives Here

  • Project Managers who like owning their projects end to end
  • Professionals who value direct access to leadership and clear communication
  • PMs who are comfortable wearing multiple hats and being part of a growing team
  • Those who want to grow with a company rather than jump firms every few years
  • People who take pride in accountability, follow-through, and quality execution

What’s in It for You

  • Competitive compensation aligned with the Dallas commercial construction market
  • Exposure to high-profile, meaningful commercial projects
  • Direct mentorship from experienced leadership
  • Real ownership over projects, clients, and outcomes
  • Clear opportunity to grow into a larger leadership role as the company expands
  • A stable, respected GC with momentum and a strong reputation in the market

This is a strong opportunity for a Project Manager who wants to be trusted, involved, and positioned for long-term growth with a company that’s already proven — and still building.
