Your Responsibilities - What You Will Do

• Safely load, secure, transport, and offload CarMax vehicles between stores, auctions, vendors, and logistics hubs using a company-assigned car hauler.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of vehicles to enhance customer satisfaction and support inventory movement.
• Operate equipment with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and cleanliness, and maintain a well-kept truck and trailer.
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment in compliance with DOT and CarMax standards.
• Maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation.
• Represent CarMax professionally with vendors, store associates, and the general public.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid state-issued commercial driver's license Class A (CDL) is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience required. Military (Heavy/Medium Tactical Vehicle) driving experience will also be considered.
• (For current CarMax Associates) In lieu of having Class A CDL driving experience, you must meet the following criteria:
  • A valid state-issued Class A CDL
  • 2+ years of Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) driving experience at CarMax (non-Class A CMV experience is acceptable)
  • No preventable safety incidents in the past 2 years (verified by the Safety & Compliance Team)
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years; candidates must meet CarMax's Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
• Ability to meet DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements.
• Physical capacity to lift heavy objects and winch transported vehicles during loading.
• Proficient in operating a 10-speed transmission.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills.

Compensation:

The hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $26.20 to $44.60.

Benefits:

All associates are entitled to a comprehensive benefits package including paid sick time, vacation time, and paid holidays.

• Full-time associates earn up to 48 hours of sick time yearly and between 80 to 200 hours of vacation time each year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of service.
• Full-time associates are entitled to 8 hours of pay for each of 6 paid scheduled holidays plus one floating holiday. Extra pay is provided for working on scheduled holidays.

Full-time salaried associates have access to unlimited paid time off, subject to manager approval.
