Job Description

The Assistant Statistical Research Scientist is a key member of the department with shared accountability for the success of the Research Department's scientific goals. They primarily oversee client funded initiatives and contribute to the leadership of statistical and epidemiological methodology in alignment with the scientific strategy. Responsibilities include designing studies for client funded projects, leading the writing of protocols, statistical analysis plans, and official communications to regulatory agencies, consulting on design of internal initiatives, contributing to the development of statistical and epidemiologic methodology, leading or contributing to writing papers, abstracts, and manuscripts, supporting grant development and submission efforts, contributing to the development and implementation of the scientific strategy, presenting study findings at conferences and meetings, mentoring junior research staff and students, and service to the scientific community such as reviewing literature and participating in professional societies. Education required is a Doctorate Degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or mathematics. Less than 1 year related experience is required. Skills include excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, flexible and collaborative style, advanced statistical knowledge and analytical skills, ability to read, implement, and mentor others on statistical methods, excellent organizational skills, demonstrated leadership ability, and experience working across diverse projects. The position is located at Denver Health, an integrated academic health care system and safety-net institution in Denver, Colorado.
