Accounting Manager

Location: Just outside Nashville, TN

Type: Full-Time | 100% In-Office

About the Company

A well-established and growing civil construction company located just outside of Nashville is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its leadership team. This role will play a critical part in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while supporting the company through the implementation and ongoing use of its ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, with direct management of Accounts Payable staff
• Review and manage job costing , cost codes, and project-related financials
• Perform and oversee account reconciliations , month-end close, and financial reporting
• Support and optimize the company’s ERP system (Viewpoint Vista)
• Partner with project managers and operations to ensure accurate cost tracking
• Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and system efficiencies
• Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards

ERP & Systems Experience

• Strong experience working within an ERP system is required
• Viewpoint Vista experience is highly preferred , but not required
• Training will be provided for candidates with strong ERP backgrounds
• Ability to lead through system implementation, adoption, or optimization

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or civil construction
• Proven experience with job costing and reconciliations
• Prior experience supervising or mentoring accounting/AP staff
• Strong understanding of construction accounting principles
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working in a 100% in-office environment
